On 2024-12-24 I downloaded Zotero 7 on my Macbook Pro and personal i-devices. A few of my friends from college and especially doctoral students have told me about much Zotero positively impacts their research endeavors. I never knew if it would add friction to my workflow or make it better. Early 2025 is going to be a trial run for me.
I also downloaded the Zotero chrome extension.
I set the Data Directory Location
to sit in the “inbox” directory of my Second Brain repo.
I’m quite happy about where this fits into my workflow. I’m able to effortless clip and snapshot PDFs, articles, blog posts and more using the Zotero Chrome Extension. These snapshots contain rich data and links. They’re automatically synced between devices (300 MB of storage is free, which is pretty sizeable).
I still have to dig into annotations and exporting them. The integration of zotero into my neovim-markdown second brain setup is going to be great.
